Newly Elected MP Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight Thanks Residents in Personal Visit

Over the more than 40 years that I have lived in this constituency, I have never welcomed politicians to my home. The few who attempted to visit were either firmly turned away or clearly told not to return.

Last night, while I was taking an early rest, a bold lady by the name of Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight stopped by to visit my family and me. After being awakened, my first remark was, “I shot the last politician who came to my house.” She simply smiled in response.

This was the first time I have ever seen a politician return to thank the people of this area after being elected. If she continues in this manner, I believe she has a bright future in politics. More politicians should follow her example. Public service should not be only about campaigning and winning a seat; it should also be about showing genuine appreciation and gratitude to the people who placed their trust in you.

My only hope is that she remains accessible and committed to serving the people who elected her, always acting in their best interest. With all the political turmoil and uncertainties we now face, I am of the view that she is off to a very good start.
