Join us as we celebrate World Poetry Day on March 21st 2025 as we commemorate the day with a free show at Rock Hall Freedom Village, St. Thomas.
This event which is a part of the celebrations for We Gatherin is set to be a night of lyrical excellence as some of Barbados’ most awarded poets will be performing poems that speak to the legacy of Rock Hall Freedom Village.

As part of the celebration, we will be presenting the prestigious PoeTree Barbados Griot Award to Adisa ‘Aja’Andwele for his stellar contribution to rhythm poetry in Barbados.
But that’s not all!
As it is World Poetry Day the event will pay homage to Kamau Brathwaite, with some excerpts from his work.

And guess what ?
There is a FREE shuttle service from St. Thomas Parish Church that would take you to the event from 6pm.
There will be no parking for patrons at Rock Hall Freedom Village so we encourage persons to use the shuttle service provided and park their vehicles at St. Thomas Parish Church.
