Barbados’ creative scene is set to experience something truly fresh as PoeTree Barbados unveils its newest production, Under the PoeTree: A Night of Musical Poetry, on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at Bean N Bagel 2.0, Rockley, Christ Church.
Showtime begins at 7:30 PM, with an evening that promises to blend the rhythm of spoken word with the soul of live music.
Headlining the show is powerhouse vocalist Chrissy D, fresh off an incredible 2025 soca season that saw her dominate the airwaves with hits like “We Gatherin’,” “TIP,” and “Bubbluminati.” Known for her commanding stage presence and vocal range, Chrissy D will showcase her versatility, performing beloved R&B and neo-soul classics in an intimate setting that highlights her artistry and emotional depth.
Supporting her and the rest of the performers are the talented musicians of the internationally acclaimed band 2 Mile Hill, whose signature fusion of Caribbean rhythm and contemporary sound has earned them global recognition and performances at festivals such as SXSW and the Barbados Jazz Festival. Their live accompaniment promises to add richness and resonance to every performance, seamlessly weaving together music and poetry into one unforgettable experience.

The evening will also feature a stellar lineup of poets and performers including Stonedwithcupid, Deo The Poet, Ashley Serieux, Malachi Hope, Raquon “Negus Knots” Hinds, Timon Howard, Rae (who recently graced the stage at Mahalia’s Corner), Cher-Antoinette, and Antoine Winters, a Richard Stoute Teen Talent Semi-finalist. They will be joined by LaFonn Millar, Mark Yearwood, Cher-Antoinette, R-Lando, Kam, Iyah Badd, Daniel Boxill, BVR, Zoe Sunshine, and Chef Lex, creating a diverse showcase that celebrates both emerging and established voices.
According to Co-Producer and award-winning spoken word artist StonedwithCupid, the concept of a musical poetry show is a deliberate evolution for the brand.
“At PoeTree Barbados, we’ve always believed poetry is more than words it’s rhythm, it’s feeling, it’s performance. Under the PoeTree: A Night of Musical Poetry gives poetry a new voice by marrying it with live music. We wanted to give audiences a space where they don’t just listen they feel every note, every word, every heartbeat.”
Band Member Kris Clarke said that the band’s main role is to support the development of arts thus they were excited to partner with PoeTree Barbados.
“I am happy to see the arts develop and reach higher levels this collaboration can help elevate the artist’s capabilities as well as their awareness of entertainment processes.”
Under the PoeTree: A Night of Musical Poetry is poised to become a signature experience on Barbados’ arts calendar one that reimagines performance poetry as a full-bodied artistic expression.
The production is proudly supported by IGM Stage Lighting, Bean N Bagel 2.0, and R.L. Seale & Company Ltd. whose sponsorship ensures the night’s brilliance shines both on stage and beyond.
