Kathy Ann Launches Flab to Fab

Debut author Kathy Ann Best who is the author of Flab to Fab.

Barbadian author Kathy Ann recently released her debut book Flab to Fab, an empowering guide for anyone ready to commit to their fitness journey and embrace lasting change. Since its release in February the book is already sparking conversation for its unfiltered, relatable tone and mix of personal story, scientific insight, and practical advice.

“Seeing my book on Amazon was surreal,” she shared. “I squealed like a little child. It felt amazing to see something I created out there in the world—it was a dream come true.”

Flab to Fab chronicles Kathy Ann’s transformation from a casual gym-goer to a strong, confident woman who understands the true mechanics of wellness. Through her story, she offers readers insight into the importance of weight training, mindset, and informed choices, challenging myths and reshaping expectations.

“I had been in and out of the gym for years,” she explained. “But my body didn’t change until I really understood what I was doing—knowledge and weightlifting made all the difference. That’s what I share in my book.”

Her book which contains 113 pages is a must read as it does not only detail Kathy Ann’s journey but also has workout plans to help the reader take control of their health and wellness.

“I wanted people to see that being busy, older, or overweight doesn’t matter you can still commit and transform. My story is proof that change is possible at any stage of life,” Kathy Ann said.

But the journey wasn’t without its doubts. Writing such a personal book brought its own emotional hurdles.

“There were moments where I hesitated. I didn’t want to say anything that would make someone feel bad. I had to balance being honest while still being sensitive,” she noted. “But in the end, I realized sharing my experience could help someone else find their breakthrough.”

That spirit of service and faith runs through every page of her book. She believes her writing is more than a personal goal it’s her calling.

“As I said in the book, I believe God gifted me to write,” she said. “Now that I’ve started, I feel like I’m finally being obedient to Him.”

Her bold, comical, yet deeply grounded tone has resonated with early readers. “One woman told me it was a comical way of making a serious point. Another said I was a bit harsh—but that it was exactly what she needed. That surprised me, but it reminded me that tough truths often bring the greatest growth.”

Flab to Fab is not just a book about my weight loss it’s about stepping into one’s power. “As you transform into ‘fab,’ so much changes,” Kathy Ann added. “You truly become a healthier version of yourself, inside and out.”

Looking ahead, Kathy Ann has no plans to slow down. With a second book already at the publisher and a third in progress, she’s also exploring workshops and public speaking to expand her message.

“I would absolutely welcome the chance to speak and connect with people in person. There’s so much more to share, and I know this is just the beginning.”

Her advice to aspiring writers? “Keep a journal so you remember your story and know that someone out there needs to hear it.”

Flab to Fab is available on Amazon and already has five star reviews, a feat with Kathy Ann is very proud of, she encourages everyone to read her book and be inspired by her journey.
