13-Year-Old Fatally Shot in Silver Hill

A tragic wave of grief has engulfed the Silver Hill, Christ Church community following the fatal shooting of 13-year-old Seanaton Chase. The Lodge School student was an innocent bystander when gunfire erupted near a local hard court around 8:00 p.m. last night. Chase was found lying on the ground, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

His father, Sean Chase, speaking to the incident, expressed his devastation, describing his son as a loving and energetic child who stayed out of trouble. The young boy had been visiting the area when the incident unfolded. Residents were left in shock, with one witness recounting that Chase had been waiting to watch a netball game when gunfire erupted. Running for safety, he soon realized he had been hit before collapsing.
According to news reports, acting Police Inspector Ryan Brathwaite has confirmed that authorities received a report at approximately 7:45 p.m. Investigations revealed that two armed assailants fired multiple shots towards the court from behind a nearby housing unit. Chase, an onlooker at the game, sustained injuries to his abdomen and chest before being transported via private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
