Shelly Williams, chairman of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Incorporated, has reported a positive response to this year’s regathering celebrations. While it is still too early to determine the number of arrivals for the event, Ms. Williams said that what took place in St. Lucie is an indication that the year-long cultural event would be a major success.
Ms. Williams was speaking on the sidelines of the Barbados Sailing Beak Award Ceremony at the Barbados Yacht Club. She also highlighted possible economic opportunities for the country, stating that people are coming back for various reasons, including real estate opportunities, ancestral connections, and investment opportunities.
Overall, Ms. Williams reported that the response to the regathering celebrations has been very positive.
