Neuville leads WRC icons at Monza’s Pirelli farewell

Newly crowned FIA World Rally Champion Thierry Neuville is among a stellar lineup of WRC stars gearing up for next week’s Monza Rally Show.

The Belgian ace, fresh from clinching his maiden world title at FORUM8 Rally Japan, will share the spotlight with an all-star cast, including Sébastien Ogier, Kalle Rovanperä, 2024 WRC2 Champion Sami Pajari, Adrien Fourmaux, and fan-favourite Dani Sordo.

Adding to the excitement, Toyota GAZOO Racing Team Principal Jari-Matti Latvala will also make a rare competitive appearance, swapping his managerial role for the driving seat as he tackles the iconic asphalt stages in a GR Yaris Rally1 HYBRID.

Scheduled for 6 – 8 December, the Monza Rally Show blends competition with a festival-like setting and will serve as a fitting farewell to Pirelli, marking the end of the Italian brand’s tenure as the exclusive tyre supplier to the FIA World Rally Championship from 2021 to 2024. Looking ahead, Hankook will take over the role from the 2025 season.

During its four-year stint, Pirelli delivered cutting-edge tyre technology and played a pivotal role in some of the most thrilling battles in modern WRC history. This year’s manufacturers’ championship was decided by just three points in what was the closest finish in more than four decades.

Monza’s history with the WRC is rich, having hosted the championship’s season finale in both 2020 and 2021. Sébastien Ogier emerged victorious on both occasions, securing his eighth world title on the latter.
