LIAT 2020 Soars Again: Historic Maiden Flight Takes Off

St. John’s, Antigua – A new chapter in Caribbean aviation history was written today as LIAT 2020, the revived regional airline, successfully executed its inaugural flight. The aircraft, carrying a distinguished group of dignitaries and media personnel, departed Antigua for St. Lucia at 11:30 am.

The momentous occasion was preceded by a celebratory ceremony where Prime Minister Gaston Browne expressed immense pride in the airline’s resurgence. The event marked the culmination of collaborative efforts between regional governments and Nigerian carrier Air Peace to restore the beloved airline to the skies.

LIAT 2020 commences operations with a fleet of seven aircraft and an initial schedule connecting Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia, and Barbados with three flights per week. As the airline expands its routes and services, it is anticipated to play a pivotal role in reconnecting the Caribbean and boosting regional tourism and economic growth.
