A secondary school student sustained injuries after being involved in a physical altercation with another student of the same institution.The incident, which allegedly took place on Thursday, October 10th, involved a male student who was struck with a stone. The injured student was transported to a local polyclinic for medical attention and was subsequently released.
Following the incident, a voice note detailing the altercation and images of the injured student being transported on a stretcher have been widely shared on social media, sparking concern among the public.
In response to the incident, Felicia Dujon, the education spokesperson for the Opposition Democratic Labour Party, has called on the Ministry of Education to implement stricter safety measures in schools. Dujon suggested that the ministry should ensure that safety officers are stationed at every secondary school to help prevent such incidents from occurring.
