Young Author Jaheim Thomas Launches Inspiring Debut Book “HIDDEN”

Barbados, August 2024 – At just 19 years old, Jaheim Thomas, a past student of The Lodge School and currently a second-year law student at The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, has made a significant impact with the launch of his debut book, HIDDEN. This remarkable work is more than just a book; it’s a movement, a study, and a call to action for youth to find their true identity and purpose in life.

Thomas, who has always been passionate about writing, was inspired to create HIDDEN during his time as a student councillor at The Lodge School. It was during these formative years that he felt a divine call to address the struggles and misconceptions young people face, particularly in relation to their identity and purpose. Reflecting on his experiences, Thomas shared, “I heard it clearly when God said, the children society refused. It always reminds me of Psalm 118:22, which Jesus later referenced in Matthew 21:42, ‘the stone the builders refused became the chief cornerstone.’”

HIDDEN is a transformative piece that challenges readers to look beyond the surface and discover the potential that lies within. It is designed to be used as a journal, a devotional, and a guide for Christian living, making it accessible to children, young adults, parents, and educators alike. Thomas’s aim is to reshape perceptions and help youth consecrate their lives for a greater purpose, using biblical principles to unlock what is hidden within them.

The journey of writing HIDDEN was a deeply spiritual and educational experience for Thomas. He was mentored by Julia Spence, who played a crucial role in ensuring that the language of the book was child-friendly and accessible. Thomas also worked closely with Lynelle, his graphic designer and book layout designer, who brought his creative vision to life.

Since its launch on August 18th, 2024, HIDDEN has received an overwhelming response. The book’s launch event was a deeply moving experience, filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. “The atmosphere was charged with the Holy Spirit. As young Christian leaders, worship should always be at the centre of our celebrations,” Thomas recounted.

Readers have praised HIDDEN for its fresh perspective on the importance of children and their purpose in the world. The book has been described as a guide to living life as a child, a daily devotional, and a must-read for anyone willing to change their outlook on life.

Looking ahead, Thomas is already working on future projects, including a student leadership project and another book focused on spiritual awakening and identity. He is committed to continuing his work in the development of children, Christianity, and leadership.

Thomas’s faith has been the cornerstone of his journey, guiding him through the process of writing and publishing HIDDEN. He believes that God gave him this vision and that it is through God’s grace and timing that the book and its launch were so beautifully executed. He hopes that HIDDEN will change the perception of children and youth and transform lives.

For those aspiring to become authors, Thomas offers this advice: “Don’t be in a rush to put something out there; write with a purpose. Seek mentorship and guidance, study, pray, and fast. Trust that what God began in you, He will be faithful to complete.”

HIDDEN is available for purchase online, including on Amazon. A free downloadable journal, “Thoughtful Moments with Hidden,” is also available online.
